10 months ALREADY!

I haven't updated this thing in a while because of being out of town and two rounds of company back to back! Now that life is getting back to normal I can finally update everyone on what's been going on around here!

Owen cut 2 more teeth and you would have never known by the way he was acting! His top two have come in and he is already leaving teeth marks on the crib railing! Oh well. We had our very first fever ever on Sunday night. Owen woke up with a 102.3! After looking in his ears and checking him out the doc thinks it is just a bad cold. Good news.

Mason has learned how to clap along to "patty cake" but more impressively he can do the "rooooollll it." Smartie pants! He also sticks his tongue out when you to it first. I think it may be the cutest face he has ever made! I just want to squish him when he does it. Manda was here and she taught him how to pucker his lips and blow through them. Now he does it all the time and his lips look so cute!

We all went to Rockdale to visit my mom's older brother where he is in an Alzheimer's nursing home. He used to be a pediatrician and absolutely loved children. Unfortunately, he did not seem to realize that there were two babies right there with him. I like to think Owen and Mason somehow brightened his day even if we couldn't tell on the outside.

Aunt Lindsay was in town from NYC and the babies really enjoyed the extra attention! They really liked playing games with her like "make a funny face" or "make a funny noise." We also weighed the babies since they turned 10 months. Mason came in at 20 lbs 9.8 oz and Owen was 22 lbs 1 oz. Holy Moly!

Mimi and Papi were in town from Lubbock along with Uncle Kyle and Manda. We ventured to the zoo for the first time. Owen and Mason enjoyed strolling around outside and thought the fish and giraffes were the best!

Below are quite a few albums with lots of new pics...

Lift Off

We have crawlers! Owen and Mason LOVE their new found independence! They have perfected crawling and are just about pros at pulling up on anything and everything. They just need to realize that if you let go, you fall! It's not easy but we are all getting used to the bumps and bruises that come along with mobility.

Owen and Mason have also become little copy cats! It is so fun to watch! They'll copy us or each other-it is so cute to see them interact with one another! Both of them clap along even if all we do is say "yaaay." Owen loves to dance when he hears his toys playing music (he bops up and down) and he'll even do it on command even if there is no music. He's also learned how to click his tongue back at you. Mason has learned how to drink from a straw! He still mainly chews on it but if he wants a drink he'll suck it right up!
The official weights at the 9 month pedi visit were Owen: 21 lbs. 1 oz. (60%) and Mason: 19 lbs. 11 oz. (37%). Both are 28" tall.

We had a scare the other night with Mason. He was all tucked in to the back seat of the stroller as Aaron and I shopped for carpet. All of a sudden we heard a noise and saw him falling to the ground, head first. He apparently found a way to climb over and out of the back seat. We took him to the ER and his CAT scan came out negative. Thank God!

This coming Saturday we'll be getting our NEW CARPET!! Hooray! No more ugly blue stuff! We also set up a play yard for the babies to play in and they love it. Aaron and I love it too because it gives us peace of mind when we have to leave the room. We know they'll be safe!

Owen Claps Along

This was so cool! Mommy claps and bangs, and Owen follows along!

Crawling!

Well, the little guys are progressing really fast now! Their crawling is coming right along, and they're getting better at getting themselves sitting from their tummies.

Here's Owen crawling last Sunday:

...and here's Mason crawling (he wasn't in the best mood at the time, though!)

Almost Crawling

Our house has begun the transformation for crawlers! We purchased a new bed for our guest room, which is now becoming our play room-a twin with a trundle gives us so much more room to play! This weekend we are baby proofing the house and lowering the crib mattresses!

Owen has a new favorite game. He loves to give a short little "daaa" or "baaa" or "aaah" or whatever sound comes out to try to "scare" you. He wants you to do it back and when you do he cracks up and does it again. We got it on video-and to add to the humor, he also has the hiccups! Hopefully Aaron can get the video posted soon!

We go for our 9 month, yes, I said NINE month check up on Friday! I can't believe they are already 9 months!!! My money is on Mason-20 lbs. and Owen-22 lbs!
